Alright guys. Little back story here so bear with me. Two years ago me and a good friend of mine took the trip of a lifetime for us at the time which was bikepacking across the entirety of baja Mexico (about 1200 miles and 28 days) we both went into it with no bikepacking experience and it all ended up working out. I rode a 2018 Marin four corners with an upgraded cassette and other than the countless tube changes the bike treated me really well. Fast forward a year, my bike is stolen from my garage. It was absolutely gut wrenching and is still something that still keeps me up at night. It’s not the money i spent on the bike, i could care less. It was the memories, the stickers on my frame from different cities we rode through etc. Anyway, i’m finally at a point where i have the courage to get back on the horse and get a new bike. This time around im able to have a bigger budget, around 2k. Considering i really enjoyed the four corners, could i please get some recommendations of a gravel bike that is customizable and capable of traveling long distances through different terrain of countryside? Thank you!

Oh dude, can you go to a local bike store? There are *so* many amazing options in gravel / bikepacking. Steel gets more limited in options but if you’re open to aluminum go shop around have fun.
