It so obviously makes sense, so why isn't it happening as a matter of urgency?
Sadly cycling in the UK is mostly sport orientated, not for everyday use, commuting
I rode a bike to school and there was a bike shed at school! 1965 – 1969
So 15 years later (from when this film was made) what is the cycling infrastruture like in Darlington UK? Are there more cycling lanes and is it safer than what it was in 2008 – 2009 ? Do more people actually commute by bike?
This was a beautiful film, I hope the girls are all still cycling. Let’s hope the government can start and build more cycle paths everywhere, so that more people can enjoy the benefits of cycling.
The data is 15 years old however I found the film to be charming.
Lets have it right. Cars are a status symbol. I mean you don't bye a rolex watch to tell the time.

Very few things in life compare to the elegance of a lady rideing on a bicycle .
I love the pure joy of cycling in this film. In today's ever changing automotive world, the bicycle will always be an expression of freedom for me.
This should be compulsory viewing in every school, public place, pub, library, shopping centre … OK, perhaps OTT (I'm not convinced it's OTT) but ordinary people ought to realise that ordinary people ride bikes! Beautiful young people are worth protecting and all young people are beautiful. So are old people.
A beautiful video. I live in America where the infrastructure is slowly making changes but not where it's needed. There are paths in the big city I live in but specifically in the city. How does one get in and out of the city? There is nothing being done to get from the neighborhoods to the city. The general health of the population is horrible and getting worse and the fix for that is feed everyone pills. They need exercise not pills. I digress. This was a lovely video to watch.
Brilliant film. Pls do another more upto date version. There are still so many councillors who think canal paths and old repurposed train tracks mean cycle infrastructure. This should be compulsory viewing.

Enjoyed the film, and it made me wonder what gains Darlington has made in cycling infrastructure and mode share in the years 15 years since it was filmed.
