My two sons (4 & 6) are becoming obsessed with bikes. It's great seeing them playing and racing each other. So we plan to get them both brand new bikes for Christmas.

Now, I'm looking for something for myself to ride around with them and its been a loong time between drinks for me and bikes and I'm just overwhelmed by the choice and what I should even be looking at for bikes. I think I can scrap together around $500-600AUD for something. 192cm.

Am I looking at the right kind of bikees here with the choices above? Or any other recommendations, in Australia, that around that price range would be a good 'return to biking'?

You’ve got the right idea, but I would look for a used hardtail with your same budget. You’re going to get a lot more for your money. Entry level bikes are easy to find used. Check your local marketplaces everyday.
