Tire holds air just fine but I notice it’s starting to take more effort to maintain speed, especially on hills..

Not all tires have wear indicator, especially threaded ones.
Your tires looks fine, thousands of miles of life left

Check if it’s something else slowing you down. Maybe the brakes are rubbing or the hubs need a service. Spin the wheels when it’s off the ground and see how long they coast for. They should go for quite a while.

If you start flatting or see cracking around the edge of the rubber switch it out.
I also just kind of switch things out more often than I probably need to. It is the only part of your bike that touches the road…not the place to skimp.

I see one wear indicator. It’s s the fact that it’s so worn.

Looks fine. You could rotate them if you’re worried a about it

If you really want to know, dismount the tire and see how it looks un-inflated. If the casing is still convex, then you have useable life. If the casing is thinner in the middle of the tire, it is time to replace.
