my rear derailleur snapped, and reading this sub i figured it was due to incorrect chain routing, which also i DIYed (not very successfully).
repairing this, must it be replaced with the exact same derailleur or will other 12 speed derailleurs work? just dont want to be the clueless guy at the bike shop who gets scammed 🙃

Hard to find replacement for those arms to be honest, you’re better off buying a new derailleur.
