I'm a short-distance commuter (only about a mile) in my first office job, and I have a frankenbike of a Peugeot Ventoux that I love deeply (photos attached pre and post modification). It has toe clips which I've learned to love, and being primarily a sneaker wearer that's never been an issue. But I do occasionally like to wear Docs or Timbs, which are difficult at best to get into the clips, and I'm interested in getting a different pair of casual boots to wear in the office. Can anyone suggest something that would work? I'm okay with the toe getting worn as long as the rest of the boot ages with it, though I reserve the right to change my mind about that.

My summer bike has toe clips. In good warm weather, I wear croc sandals with socks. Same in the rain. I’d rather get my sandals wet than runners.

As the weather gets cold with the seasons, I change into my winter boots. No issue slipping into those toe clips.

Now with the snow warnings and ice on the trails, I’m riding my winter beater bike. Flat pedals and winter boots.

If I ever need to walk through snow/ice with the boots I use with the the clips, I attach Yak Trax so they can be taken off before riding.
