I’ve been meaning to get more into cycling for a while but just feel overwhelmed by all the choices that are out there and can’t put a finger on how things should or can be priced.
For the past couple of months I’ve been borrowing my cousin’s Specialized Diverge Compact (I believe that’s the name?) but have to give it back. Looking to get my own and have been scouring places like FB marketplace or Craigslist. I’ve been slowly getting myself acquainted with different bike parts and frames and came to the conclusion that the roubaix might meet my criteria for what I want in a bike.
Local FB marketplace seller is selling a 2017 Specialized Roubaix Elite for $1600 and wondering if this is a decent deal. The seller claims it’s apparently a 2019 bike but the SKU number says otherwise.
Specs of the bike from what I can tell:
Size 54
Shimano 105 group set
Disc Brakes
Carbon fiber frame
Praxis front Derailleur
No idea of mileage but from the pictures the tires look decent?
I have a feeling $1600 is definitely overkill in terms of price but wanted to see what others had to say. I can’t really find any similar build bikes online to compare it too in terms of pricing either. I might be able to negotiate with the seller a little bit. I’ll attach some links to pics of the bike. Located in the northeast USA if that matters.
