  1. Grew up in cov and left in the mid 90s. The 80s was rough in town, guaranteed fights every weekend and usually week nights too. The Burges always kicked off after the clubs shut….still, no one would say boo to the woman behind the counter of the Parson's Nose, she looked fierce as fuck 😄

  2. I drank in pubs without bouncers (In Dublin). Anyone coming causing trouble would have to face the whole bar. In all my years I only ever once saw trouble, a gang from another part of town thought they were messing with university students. Mistake! They never came back, despite their threats as they ran away, after meeting the concerted, and for them unexpected, ferocious resistance of a bunch of lads who valued enjoying a peaceful night out together. Meanwhile, in the pubs with bouncers, there was trouble every night.

  3. Remember geoff well, never a problem, all us lads were boxers, the lad who lost his life used to work for me in fact boxed with us in tile hill, another great lad from a boxing family, sadly lost, ive read all your books loved elephant & the twig, so true,
This post was sent to me from a pal in leamington i boxed a couple of times, well done geoff, keep them comming, 👍👏👏

  4. So he hit a man who was sat down and drinking beer then kicked him in the head. Whenever I hear stories like this I always wonder why, if they're so tough, they don't become boxers and earn big money. Probably because boxers don't sit down drinking beer, waiting to be punched.

  5. In Weymouth in the 70’s (UK)There was a guy that was a Doorman/ Bouncer. There was a certain night when the slade were appearing. Well! The place was packed with Skinheads. And as you would expect it kicked off. This Bouncer was 6ft 5inches. And built like a Sh@#£&*. The Skinheads were jumping on him. But gradually he got the better of them. And then it began! He was smashing their heads together, truly! It was sickening. And then picking them up and running them at a closed glass door. These were not! Young idiots! Some of these guys were older stronger guys. He was picking them up like they were rag dolls. They were all on a heap outside of the Pavilion. I have never seen anything like it. It was frightening. I’m only glad that I knew this guy. Strong men? Believe it you have never seen anything like this guy. In a supposedly quiet little seaside town. I will never forget it.I’m now 78. And I have never seen anything like the strength of this Guy.

Trust me,there were no Martial Arts, no finesse, he was an absolute Machine. A wrecking ball. I’m not sure if he is still alive. But he was the strongest guy I had ever seen. An absolute beast. God bless him

  6. I'm 5'8 & I was working security at a bodybuilding convention, one guy, a 6'4 steroid freak, who was so big he could hardly move, he thought it was highly amusing, he poked the bear all day long, while he was filling himself up with beer, then he started getting handsy with the punters, as I was telling him, it was time to leave, two of my guys came over, this prompted him to take the piss, I stood them down like I was going to do anyway, I asked him nice for the last time, that was a No, so I took him apart one bit at a time, you don't have to damage much on them to fukc them up, just don't let them get hold of you,, or they will rip you up like toilet paper, I was fast & precise, I did however need help with him in the end, I couldn't carry the fat fukc out on my own.
I was given some excellent advice as a Royal Marine, that I took with me, it helped me through Military Contracting & Close Quarter Security, "Never Underestimate Anybody", it saved my life on a number of occasions, & I instilled it into my kids.

  7. Ive just read WATCH MY BACK one of Geoffs books absolutely love it ive read it many times hes an absolute legend a real hardman not these ones who brag constantly he helped me get over my procrastination and helped me rewire my tortured mind from being abused badly as a child and having bo confidence etc to now ive learned to think differently. I was suicidal and his book changed my life forever. GEOFF THOMPSON IS THE REAL DEAL AND I ADORE HIS HONESTY AND HIM GIVING US THINGS POUNT BLANK.

  8. Geoff was a friend of my dads and my karate instructor. If you didn't already know about him , you would never know how much of a highly trained and practiced martial artist he is. The most polite and humble person in the world.

  9. Remember those days like it was yesterday!! Grew up in Coventry it was 1 hard city great days 80s 90s and beyond Geoff was 1 nice guy but mess with him you are going to sleep 😴 busters night club wow what a place thank definitely Coventry lads were the hardest in GB great days brilliant memories and the best lads anywhere respect 🙏 Geoff

  10. I used to box at a gym in coventry early 90s i met him a few times nice bloke he was . The real hardman of that city was my pal Kevin houston . Geoff actually mentions him in his book . In his day he was unstoppable

  11. I have such a massive
    disdain for Bullies like him,
Every town has got one and normally only their own family likes them and their friends only hang around with them because it makes them feel hard.

  12. This story is a little disturbing. A guy is having a drink in a pub and, having refused to leave, is then beaten unconscious. Maybe I missed something but if he was barred then how come he got served in the first place? Having been served – by mistake it would seem, if he was barred – wouldn't it have been more civilised, and less likely to cause the situation to escalate unnecessarily, to let him finish his drink and then refuse to serve him another? If he got abusive or violent then indeed it might be time to step in, or, better still, call the police. Another thing: punching someone on the jaw with an ungloved hand is likely to injure your hand, rendering you less able to punch again with that hand.

  13. We're not Scotch, Geoff!! Scotch is a drink. We are Scots!! I'm glad you knock fck out of this one, though!! Needing a weapon makes a person a coward & a fussy!! RESPECT!! 🍀✝️🙏✝️🍀
