Kinda looks like that rod just needs to be pushed back into place, then again it is bent too, not sure if its replaceable or not.
Good excuse to upgrade?

You might have to replace the push-rod assembly but yes, that should be fixable. Depending on where you live a new lever might be cheaper than sourcing parts but yes.
