I accidentally unscrewed the brake on this bike that I’m trying to put together for an Angel Tree Child. I thought that I was supposed to do this, but apparently that was not part of the instructions (bad move on my part) but there’s this break spring support thing and I have looked up where to put it looked in the instructions and I can’t figure out how to attach it. Please help I’ll attach a photo

That is the tension to hold the break open. Attaches via the middle bolt I believe.

Ps, I just lost the little plastic nib on the end of one of the sides. Is that super important or can it go without it?
my feeling is that the two loops go on either side of the center attachment bolt, one side hooked / slotted over one side of the brake lever and then push, to compress the spring to the other side and slot it over the other lever. i might try this between the bike & the frame. you could also wrap a piece of tape around the side that’s going to be still so it doesn’t fly off as easily.
