Shard of glass punctured tube. Lbs says tire ok, despite the visible hole?
- Is this tire still OK?
- Should I get a more resilient tire for riding streets of LA, or is this one ok and I just had bad luck? It's a
Bontrager R1 hard case lite.

Have had worse. If youβre very worried about it put a dollar bill inside the tire there
Tire looks OK. You can alway boot the tire just in case. Some tires are more resilient than others but itβs hard to be glass proof. Just check your tires periodically and remove any debris stuck in the tire.
Put some super glue or shoe goo in the tiny hole, smooth it out and let it dry, should be fine to keep riding.
Totally useable
Dude your fine ππΏπ π π
Absolutely still useable. Most of the tires on my bikes have similar issues
I used to have R1s when I first got my bike. I had holes like this from various road debris. I used glue to close it up, and it worked like a charm.
What about an inner patch thats used for cars.
Should be fine. Clear the inside of the tire, put a new tube in and off you go. These Bontrager Hardcase tires are very good tires.
