I've been thinking about getting a mountain bike (I currently have a road bike).
I've scrolled through this sub and stopped by all but one of the bike shops near me today. I think I've narrowed it down to the Specialized Rockhopper Sport, but I would like feedback from those who are well versed with these bikes for feedback, price/value, etc.
I'm assuming the first 4 bikes are better than the Ozark, but is it enough of a difference to spend the extra money?
- Trek Marlin 5 Gen 3: $740
- Specialized Rockhopper Sport: $600 (includes 20% discount)
- Trek Marlin 5 Gen 2: $550
- Specialized Rockhopper Base: $540 (includes 20% discount) I believe it does not have lockout
- Ozark Trail Ridge: $398
All are 29ers.
I live in South Florida. This bike would be used on the flat gravel levee near work and possibly at this park near my home. It WILL NOT be used weekly.
