Welcome to Bike Routes of Brum! A channel dedicated to showing safe and quiet routes to cycle around Birmingham – inspired by @Londoncycleroutes

In this video, we travel from Stirchley to the City Centre, this time using quiet streets through Selly Park and Selly Oak before travelling along the full length of the A38 Protected Cyle Route.

The route should take about 30 minutes to cycle and the .GPX file for the route is in the link below:

  1. Coming out of town I often leave the blue route at Eastern Road and then head over to the Rea Valley route (avoids hills, but obviously not an option at the moment) or up Selly Wick Road to Raddlebarn Road. Your route looks a good option, especially at night.

  2. I live in North Birmingham but sometimes go through Stirchley on my way to visit my son in West Heath. I'm going to give your route a try. Previously I've been down : the Rea valley route which was slowed down by pedestrians and dogs; the Worcester canal which is too narrow to pass oncoming bikes and pedestrians comfortably; and the Pershore road which is busy with traffic but has plenty of room for cars to pass. I would follow your root and get on the canal near Bournville Station to make my way south to West Heath. Nice video hope you can make some more in other areas of Brum.
