I think the price is a bit high. The drivetrain is rusted and needs replacing. Chain, rings, cassette, possibly the derailleurs and shifters.
Looks like it’s been stored out in the rain and other elements. Make sure the seatpost is not stuck. All the wear items parts will need to be replaced.
Frame, fork and wheels, is what you should be pricing for.

Not a fantastic deal, but might be okay if it’s what you want. Looks like the chain is rusted, and probably needs replacement. Chainrings and cassette may need replacement as well. If it functions and all the bearings are tight, not a bad deal if it’s something you’ll ride.

It’s an okay deal if you have a fair bit of knowledge and some spare parts. If you’re hoping to just buy this and ride to work, don’t do it.

I’m picky and would not touch this. If you need a bike, can afford to put another $25-50 into this and are willing to do the work yourself it will probably be fine.
Oh, and check the tires for cracks, the rear looks like it will need to be replaced. That’s another $25-50.
In my area I’d expect an 30 year old entry level bike like this to be ready to ride if I was going to drop $80 on it.

It’s not a frame we covet. Also, it’s gonna cost you more than you want to spend. Keep looking

I bought one for $120 and rode it for 15 years and all I changed out was the shifters, brakes, brake levers, derailleurs, cranks, bottom bracket, saddle, both wheels, and tires.
Joking aside it’s a very sturdy frame that will last a long time, but they put fairly low-end components on these, and for $80 or even $50, if you’re patient you should be able to find something with a better stock groupset. I’ve recently bought ’87 and ’88 Rockhoppers for $50 and $25 respectively that have much nicer parts standard.

If you’ve got tools and some parts, go for it. All the bones are there. That red looks amazing after cleaning, polishing, and waxing.
If you don’t have parts and tools, don’t buy this one.
