  1. At 4:54 if you look left (not on this video..in real life) thereโ€™s a life size Zebra stood at the bottom of someones garden โค๏ธ
Other obstacles are the metal hooks on the ground to tie boats to, especially if hidden under Autumn leaves ๐Ÿ
I get thanked for ringing the bell too, and hear many people complain that cyclists donโ€™t ring their bells ..but words are as effective ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I tend to ring from a distance first and most hear, then closer if not, and then words if they still havenโ€™t heardโ€ฆI usually say โ€œIโ€™m passing on your left/rightโ€ then say โ€œHiโ€ x x x
At 6:00 my Mum feeds that horse carrots cut up and bread every night ..I know his name but bad hormones are preventing me from remembering it currently!
8:49 THEREโ€™S THE ZEBRA ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐ŸŽ‰ on the right, looking over the fence โค๏ธ you went back on yourself so I got to spot it yeeyyy I had to zoom up a lot though lol๐Ÿ˜‚
Ahh Iโ€™ve remembered the horses name now too โ€ฆGeoffrey ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜
I typed whilst watching, stopping and starting, otherwise Iโ€™d forget stuff!
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed that, being unable to get out much itโ€™s good to see the places I love to go to too x x x
My husband and 16yr old son have gone to Widdop today dressed in authentic Viking gear for a battle, and I asked if theyโ€™d stop at Tod Almighty for a Millers chocolate bar, so anyone seeing a Viking or two there , you know why now ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

  2. I recon the problem with cannals and "local" places that people have access to is that of familiarity breeds if, not contempt, but lack of attention. People get caught out because they are not aware of the issues – it's only the cannal – been going there for years! But there isn't much room for mistakes, and If you fall in to relatively cold water you'll gasp for air involuntarily and take in water and thereby start drowning.
I don't have a bell as most people don't listen or have ear phones in – I just approach slowly and use my voice (not shouting) and wait until they realise I'm behind them!

  3. All these Health & Safety statistics. Did you know that Australia used Health & Safety legislation to mandate the jibby jabby? I'm 53 and have worn all the safety equipment right up until 2020. Now I live in the private and throw caution to the wind. Don't wear a helmet on my bike anymore.

  4. Seriously there are some rotten cyclists around here. They fly past pedestrians and are rude. Iโ€™m like you, I say good morning to everyone. If the park is busy sometimes I walk with my bike. A smile doesnโ€™t hurt.

  5. I've ridden that exact canal path your're on many many times… I had to pull my mate out 1 time as he rode off the path…bit strange but very funny! The most dangerous thing you'll come across on that part of the canal is the walking groups!.. They hate it when you don't have a bell! lol

  6. I started a cycle at 4 am from Odiham to do the Basingstoke canal to the m25 and back. I have a paralysed arm and a fused ankle but as a keen cyclist I thought I'd give it a go. I did 3 miles and turned back, was shitting myself about falling in! The water was at least 3 foot down the bank and I thought if I go in I'm fucked. The path was uneven and over grown and I wasn't having it. Went home gutted, next week I cycled from Guildford to Shoreham and back on the downs-link……much safer!
