Which bike should I get? Giant or Trek?

I am looking to buy a hybrid bike. I haven't owned a bike since I was a kid and have longboarded for commute or exercise since then. I live in the city in Florida so it's flat but may do a little trail from time to time. I am committed but on a limited budget.

I have tried to do my research on what I should purchase. Any of the brands that I see for "best of 2024" seem like brands that people say to stay away from.

I also have seen over and over again people say to buy a "better" used bike over a new "cheaper" bike but there are limited options in my area. With that context here are some of my options.

1. Giant Escape 3 $350
   Its on sale right now down from $530. I have seen people it's just worth it to get the Giant Escape 2 but that's a little out of my budget. Is this really that bad for a first bike? It now shows since I checked a couple hours ago it has sold out, should I not bother with checking the authorized dealer near me?

2. Trek 7.3 fx $175
   This one is discontinued and I haven't found much info or too many threads talking about it. Is it a good bike? Looks maintained and the owner provided alot of information:
   Trek 7.3 Fx Hyrbrid Men's bike
   17.5" Aluminum Frame (recommended for 5’5-5’9” tall)
   8×3 Shimano Diora Drivetrain
   Bontrager seat post
   Aftermarket Gel-padded seat (for comfort on longer rides)
   Vittoria Zaffiro 700×28 Tires (Recently replaced)
   Newer brake pads/cables
   Tune-up less than a year ago
   Drivetrain cleaned and greased recently
   No rusty components
   UPDATE Replaced pedals (bad bearing)

3. Trek Fx 3 $250-300
   This is the one that I saw the most recommended. From the picture I can't tell if it has disc breaks, is it supposed to? The two I saw are both about 2 hours away from me but both claim to be minimumly used.

4. Trek Fx 2 $500 or obo
   From my understanding this is one tier down from the fx3 so I think he is asking alot? From the picture it looks like it has a disc break? Is it worth trying to barter him down, if so what's a fair price?

5. Specialized Hard Rock $50
   Is this a steal or is there something wrong with this bike or is it really slow or something?

6. Is there any other brand/models you would recommend? I see alot of people say stay away schwinn now a days but I see alot of them used, is there models worth it?
