The riding in summer is faster for sure. However, the laughs in winter are unbeatable.
Dual Shorty's aren't mandatory, but they do make life much better.
(Don't worry about the trail. I'm riding with those who dug it years ago, and I help maintain it now.)

I couldn’t agree with you more. Sweet bike btw! I recently got a set of endura mt500 waterproof bibs and they have made the PNW wet extra fun
