context: I have been riding a 2006 Soloist and ready for something more modern on a budget. I already have a gravel bike, this would be used for exclusively road and trails, including group rides. Some of the group rides are very fast and one of them in particular I haven’t been able to complete yet without getting dropped lol, my goal next year is to complete that ride. And this is the time of year I think I should be shopping for next year’s gear. I see this is available near me (but its ship to store, can’t test drive it) but I’ve never owned any road bike besides my soloist and not sure how to buy them or really what I’m doing. I think my gravel bike purchase was suboptimal I should have asked opinions first.
I guess I’m curious how this bike would feel and perform compared to the old soloist. The soloist can hold max 25mm tires and this one has 26 which… I want bigger than that but I can’t tell on the site how much room it has for upgrading to larger? It just says the size it comes with and not the clearance, unless I’m missing it.
