(Forgive me — I’m new to bikes, and I may have gotten a little excited and made a really dumb decision, lol)
I just bought this bike from a bike shop; I was just feeling around for what felt the best to ride on, and it was this bike, which I purchased (used and refurbished) for $340. I did a bit of research, and found out it’s an (unknown year, maybe 2018? I don’t know how to check) Fuji Sagres — a bike that retails for $250 to $280. So clearly I overspent; I don’t think the shop scammed me (they’re nice people, and they just refurbish bikes and resell them at some random value), and I do still like the bike, so I’m going to ask for them to refund me the difference.
What would you say a bike like this is worth in this condition? Scratches and scrapes off the paint, fenders are bent; but everything works well, the gears, etc, the brakes are in pretty good shape too, and it rides smoothly. Give me a few numbers and I’ll ask the bike shop what they can do! If not I should be able to return it, but we’ll see. I can send more pictures if needed!

Lucky if you can return it for a full refund.
Negotiate a lower price before you buy, not after!
Another amateur here, but IMO this bike looks much older than. 2018, to my eye it’s reminiscent of an 80’s or 90’s bike.
Nothing at all wrong with that, you definitely overpaid especially considering the dents & scratches, but the big question you need answering: do you like riding it?
Also I seriously doubt you’ll get anywhere by going back to the shop & attempting to retroactively get them to give you mo ey back on this bike, I know I sure wouldn’t, by all accounts you bought this in good faith & they sold you a fully functioning bike, objectively; where’s the problem?
FYI you aren’t paying for a bike. you are paying for the bike and aftercare, usually a warranty for a year and a free tune up.
