Hi,
I am struggling to pick which bike to buy. Now it has ended up with 3 options.

A pro for the Orbea is that I can get in size 55, which fits pretty well since I am 182 cm, so I am between the 54 and 56 size for Canyon bikes. But I have not heard that much about Orbea and Canyon has a good reputation.

And I can customize the design of the Orbea with no added cost

In the end, what I want is the best value for the best bike. I would appreciate some input regarding my choice, thanks in advance 🙂

  1. Four days ago I received delivery on a 58cm Orca identical to the one you are considering. I haven’t ridden either Canyon but can say that the Orca is absolutely amazing. Yesterday I rode a 25 mile (40k) route I normally ride and set 18 personal top 3 scores on Strava. It’s light weight, steady on the road, etc., pretty much rides the way you want it to ride. I also personalized the colors which you can’t do with Canyon.

I decided on the Orca after reading several reviews I found with a quick Google search and watching several videos on YouTube. The written reviews were all extremely favorable, even more so than for the Canyon Ultimate which is also a great bike.

Considering the price and the positive reviews, I chose the Orca and after two rides I’m sure I made the right choice for me.

Because it’s heavier, I wouldn’t recommend the Aeroroad unless you regularly ride it above 22-24 mph, otherwise the aero shape just adds weight.

Good luck with the decision—let us know what you go with!

  2. Value depends on what YOU value. Both Canyons are good bikes, but they are different. The best one for you depends on you.

For the record Orbea is one of the oldest cycling companies in the world and has a very good reputation.
This question is really more about the kind of riding you do and conditions you ride in.
