I made some upgrades to this fun
GT heritage line 24" bike and I really like it!
I changed out the stock drivetrain that consisted of a stamped steel front sprocket, cheapest S1 KMC chain, Long Yih freewheel, and what I found to be a damaged bottom bracket sealed bearing..
I added a GT aluminum power disc up front, a KMC K1 bmx chain, ACS Paws 4.1 freewheel, and Odyssey sealed bottom bracket. It rides better than stock now which was pretty damned good to even with bad ticking bottom bracket but I went with total overhaul. All in all not very expensive
Other additions are Dia-Compe MX
1000 front brakes with Tektro
XL750 hinged freestyle brake lever, Kool Stop salmon bmx pads, SE Racing seat post clamp, A'ME tri grips in Maui blue, and I cut the bars down in width from 31.5" to 30"
54yo here and this is such a blast from the past and really gives me good feelings!! I’m in relatively good shape as I play in a men’s fast pitch baseball league but this gives me another focus on riding and tricks and I’m really enjoying it. Sometimes sore in some spots though but super stoked lol 👍🍻
