There have been a few posts on Reddit in the past regarding this, but I wanted to see if there is any new expertise out there… especially around the issue of the lever and where/how to mount it.

Here's the issue… wife wants a dropper on her Grail (Gen 1 with Hover Bar and 2x Di2). I am OK if the cable routing needs to be routed external. The bigger concern is the lever. There are some nice levers out there for drop bars that place the lever where it can be operated from a position of control.

The Wolf Tooth ReMote Drop is what I have in mind… https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/collections/dropper-seatpost/products/remote-drop-bar

The problem is that the lower cross bar on the Hover Bar intersects the vertical drop portion of the handlebar just below the shifter/brake lever, in the same area as the lever wants to be mounted. All the Hover Bar's cross bars have a severe aero shape (not round cross section) making it tough to find other locations.

I know there are those who have mounted a lever on the bar-end, but that is pretty far from a safe gripping location and would require her to release grip, actuate the dropper and return just when things are getting hairy…. not good.

Wolf Tooth also makes a ReMote 360 that would likely offer more flexibility in mounting, perhaps that could be made to work somehow?

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. The good news is that I have a 3d printer and might be able to make a custom lever mount for one of the aero bar sections.
