Does the end of the axle have threads on it??
If you put the wheel on the bike and tighten the thruaxle, everything should be held in place. Either that, or the endcap may need to be threaded on to the axle first. Depends on the brand.
Two issues: you’re pulling off the freehub with the cassette, and the cassette itself may not be installed correctly on the freehub. Take the cassette off and put the freehub back on the hub. Find out if something is supposed to be holding it together. Some are pressed but I’m more used to seeing a locknut or endcap holding things together. As for the cassette on the freehub, check to see if you’re missing a spacer behind the cassette. Usually it’s a 1mm or 1.85mm (or in some cases both) that’s needed to fit, for example, a 10sp cassette onto an 11sp freehub.
