It looks okay, but it didn’t really feel right to me. Maybe if I had some really wide slicks, like 40mm+, it would be better. I have 30mm tubed GP5000s on the carbons so they’re fairly wide for road tires and obviously very fast. Handling was great, but it didn’t give me the awesome feeling I get with the stock wheels and tires on the Grizl. I love my Madone and I love the Grizl too, but trying to combine them just didn’t work out.
It also says something about how good the stock wheelsey and tires are on the Grizl 7 – you normally never get anything other than bargain basement stuff on a bike at that price point. Heck, my Madone is a 2023 and came with 25mm tires that I swapped immediately.
