I moved to Tokyo recently and I'm looking for a good bike option, mostly for commuting and fitness / long escapades on the weekend.
Unfortunately being in Tokyo seems to limit a bit my choice as some brands are not available and other are hard to get by in my size. (I'm quite tall)
I did a bit research and was settled on a Trek FX3 gen 4 but after going to few stores, it seems they don't have stocks and some don't sell the XL model at all. The trek official store told me they can order it, but it will 2 months minimum to get. (A bit of a bummer)
After discussing with a vendor in another store, he recommended me a Giant Escape Rx 2, same price range and similar quality according to him, the only downside i could see is the drive train (I really like the idea of a 1 X 10 on the Trek).
What is your guys opinion on this ?
My main focus is comfort for commuting (about 20 km ish /day), but still being a bit sporty / fun for when i'm not commuting on the weekend.
Or if you any suggestion for something similar that is available and serviceable in Japan, I'm open to other options.
