Chain length from store seems really loose.? With the derailleur pulled tight on the big ring, it seems like there are almost 3 extra links. Should I shorten it?

Super entry level drivetrain there so probably the derailleur doesn’t work properly when it’s too extended. I wouldn’t imagine that would be cause for concern, it’ll rattle regardless of length
Put it into the smallest gear at the back. Unless the derailleur collapses far enough for the chain to rub on itself, you’re fine.
