This trip was mostly gravel roads and bike paths. We had a gnarly storm pass through so I got used to navigating downed trees and the hum of generators. I rode 55 miles on day 1 and closer to 80 on day 2. I used a diy handlebar setup that carried all the soft parts of my tent and nested with my cook pot. The whole thing cost me less than $100 and worked perfectly. I’m planning to iterate on this design instead of purchasing something off the shelf. Frame bags and feed bags were purchased at my LBS. I’m probably carrying more weight than is strictly necessary but my sleeping setup is plush, my meals were warm, and I had a comfy change of clothes and shoes for camp. Hoping to do 3 nights and 220ish miles over labor day weekend.

Nice! that’s good mileage for a first time. My first was 55 miles each way and I spent day 3 immobile on the couch.
Is that a toboggan in front? You get an “I” for Ingenuity!
That last photo is just gorgeous. Sounds like a really good first trip out.
Love the rig it’s a clean setup! Well done, looks like an awesome trip.
