Putting aside the fact that this vehicle was blocking the whole bike lane and part of this busy roadway – while its leaf pile was blocking the sidewalk – I have a new peeve.
There is a massive cloud of shredded leaf debris particles surrounding this machine. I can hold my breath as I ride past, but I can't close my eyes on a bicycle. And I spent the rest of my ride home trying to blink the junk out of my eyes.
When I woke up the next morning, my eyes were still irritated.
Yes, I know the truck can haul more yard waste by shredding it first. But the air quality for anyone outside of a car is horrendous. (The noise is also bad.) Just cart the leaves away and shred them somewhere else.

Better than leaves that never get picked up at all, and just stay in the road for weeks
This is why I sometimes wear clear safety glasses when I don’t want to wear sunglasses. Look like a dork but they protect my eyes – now I just need to see if I can find more comfortable safety glasses.
