Advice re fuel in the Balkans

Hello bicycle touring.
I have been cycling through Europe for 3 months and have been using an Alpkit gas Brukit stove (with a pan stand). I’ve cooked a lot less than I thought-maybe 3 times a week for dinner. I’ve only used 2 gas canisters the whole tour. A friend is visiting me in Romania and I asked them to bring out the MSR dragonfly as I was worried about gas canister availability further South and West in the Balkans.
The issue is the MSR stove is a lot bigger than I thought (my friend bought it for me from FB) and doesn’t fit in my pan. I’m not sure if I should keep my gas stove which is nice and compact (but harder to find gas) or use the MSR stove which has guaranteed fuel everywhere but is a lot more bulky and risks getting squashed as it’s not in a pan.
How easy is it to find gas canisters South and West of Romania?
