I have a 2023 Norco Fluid FS A3. I have barely ridden it this year due to being furloughed with school work over this summer. I however was planning to take it to a local bike trail to ride with my friend who had just gotten his first mountain bike.
I set the tires to 26 front 28 back in preparation, but noticed that after a day or two my tire would go comepltely flat. I tried to find the area of the tire with a leak so I could patch it, only to realize that it was the connection between the valve and the rim leaking (or I believe it it the connection, it is coming from the valve for sure though).
How expensive is this to repair? Do I need an entire new wheel? I’m not very handy with my bike so I have no idea where to start or whether this needs to go to a mechanic. Im a little strapped for cash right now and would hate to get stuck with a $200 or so repair bill.

To be clear: I have zero idea how to tool around with a bike. I simply ride it and take it to my local shop if anything is broken. My most “handiness” is taking the front wheel off to fit it in the trunk of my car. If it is anything complicated, I would much rather take it to my local mechanic rather than accidentally break something else.
I’ve had one tune up in winter 2023 after giving it some use during the summer. I think I might have accidentally bumped the weed wacker into it while tending to our front law.
I’ve no idea whether you have a tubeless setup or not (which might make re-inflation trickier), but you might want to check whether your valve core has come loose.
