Hey all, long time lurker, first time posting because I recently built up a new gravel bike with flared drops and a Shimano GRX 600 groupo. I prefer everything about the Shimano system over Sram due to price, fluid type, shift feel, everything except that while descending singletrack or technical terrain in the drops for extra control, the brake levers can easily be pushed sideways (as if shifting) instead of pulling in (to brake). It's only happened once so far, and luckily didn't cause a wreck. The problem is exaggerated with gloves, and it's that season in the northern hemisphere.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if you've done anything to compensate for it! I'm going to wind in my reach adjust before my next ride and see if that helps, but I am imagining a spring loaded button like a retractable pen on top of the hoods with a pin that locks the shifters but allows brake action.
Other solutions and ideas appreciated!
