  1. You’ll need a different brake/shifter with internally routed cables.

    I can just barely make out the brand but not the model in your picture. It’s a Microshift and I’m going to guess AdventX 1×10 by the design of the lever. If I’m right, then you can use the Microshift Sword 1×10 lever as a drop in replacement.

  2. Could you do the opposite and just get very long housing and go almost straight across to the other shifter then down the downtube, so that it would sit in front of/over a bag, instead of trying to go behind it

  3. Dumb question, but what about just using a rear rack? I don’t see one so I asked, maybe you’re planning on adding one later. In case you weren’t, rear racks generally hold weight better and don’t affect your handling as much.

    I’d need to see the bag, but you might be able to just take the cable out from under the bar tape and bend it so it confirms more to the bag. I leave the cable a little long on my shifter for this reason so I can move it around any bags.
