Hi all. This piece fell off from my almost brand new P line today when I unfolded it. It doesnt look important but I also dont understand where its from.
It’s come off the section on your rear triangle where the front axle hook sits when the bike is folded.

It’s a chainstay protector but I haven’t seen any official Brompton replacement parts for this, only third party. I’m not that familiar with the Pline though

On a C Line – when the bike is shipped from Brompton – it has a small piece of protective plastic to stop the axle hook scratching the frame
On P Line bikes it has that metallic protector
At some point Brompton made them available as a spare part – they were very (too?) popular
When we tried to get more – Brompton said it was just meant for shipping and it could (should?) be removed as part of the pre-delivery inspection
We suspect the glue just wasn’t strong enough – so eventually they WILL fall off!
