Full disclosure I spent a few hours talking to bike mechanics at REI and ended up purchasing the new CO-OP DRT 1.3 ([https://www.rei.com/product/198727/co-op-cycles-drt-13-mountain-bike](https://www.rei.com/product/198727/co-op-cycles-drt-13-mountain-bike)) on sale for $1,120. I am having buyers remorse and wondering if I made the right decision (thankfully 1 year return policy). Everything I read said it is basically a Giant frame.
I have a budget of $1,300. I am recently getting back into MTB and ride primarily in San Diego. Expect to do a combo of climbing and downhill so looking for a trail bike. I haven’t purchased a bike in 23 years so I am a bit out of the game. I am beginner but would like to become more advanced.
Did I make a good decision or should I have considered the Rocky Mountain Growler 20, Vitus Sentier 29, Specialized Rockhopper Elite, or Voodoo Bizango Pro?

Get a Ragley Big Wig
I’m loving my Grand Canyon. I managed to snag the 8 for 1100 during a sale (it’s usually 1400).
What’s wrong with a Giant frame?
Voodoo bizango pro here! Had it since January and been loving it, thing has been flawless, feels like way more bike than the price tag. Would probably recommend test riding one if you can though, I found the frame sizing felt a little odd to me and went a size under what would be normal to get it feeling more right for me 😁
