I thought that police car was not going to stop at that junction Gordon. Beautiful ride Gordon, beautiful weather. It started with a blue sky here this morning (north wales)by 10:00 am it was raining! That e-bike was really flying along.
I can’t get out on a Saturday due to commitments and when I saw the weather this morning I thought typical after getting soaked twice this week ☹️. I have a Dolan too carbon very fond of it 👍
I feel your pain as i have also been off the bike whilst we visited relatives and friends in England and Scotland. It's amazing how quickly fitness deserts the 'older athlete' and i am currently a pale shadow of mty former, wheezing hulk, self. 500k in eight days sounds a fantasy at the moment but i am sorely tempted to give it a try especially as nothing is lost by failing; only the diminishing of my massive ego and peraps, a little stay in intensive care. Love watching the cycle rides through the countryside of my birth; quite brings a little tear to t' eye.
Well done mate. I went out today, after long layoff, but as always your numbers are twice mine! Plus I am not going out again tomorrow! p.s. I went up around the steep bend at Criggleston/Wooley Edge today and thought of your ride (you did it twice) p.s. your climb from Holmfirth to Upper Cumberworth is not to be sneezed at!
By gum! I thought that police car was going to pull out in front of you. Well you know what the Bobby's are like round there, I've watched Last of the Summer Wine you know!
Really enjoying your channel Gordon , I am from Sunderland but almost all of my family including parents were born and raised in Bradford so great to see you riding the Yorkshire roads .
I really enjoy these off road adventures Gordon. I remember the triple chain sets on the first Mountain Bikes. They were more like the gravel bikes of today. I had a friend with Shimano Biopace. That was an odd setup. In fact the Harry Hall touring bike I had was Biopace equipped with a 48/38/28 combo and a 8 speed cassette maxing out at 28 I think. It was enough to ride through the white and dark peaks of Derbyshire with panniers. I got used to the oval chain ring but never really believed it made a difference.
