After breakfast at La Fiancée and checking out a few tourist spots we headed to the train to Bayonne – a 3.5 hour trip! Bayonne is just gorgeous, known for it’s chocolatiers and it also is a university town so lots of cyclists, a beautiful river that divides apparently the older generation from the younger generation but we mixed it up and had a few drinks and food on either side! Had to find moules and frites (mussels and fries) while we were still in France, which we did. We were offered a couple of local digestifs which Karl was able to consume! A bit of a heavier alcohol consumption day but we knew we didn’t need to get up and hike. Theresa had the most delicious crème caramel!
