The lead is not a commander. He doesn’t have the presence required to be respected by men in that way. That is a prerequisite for a movie like this. Crazy.
Well they seem to have shunned a real depiction of Rome at the time of Severus. They seem to have what appears to be the temple of Concord at 1:13 but still it’s a messy depiction of Rome. The first gladiator movie was a dreadful depiction of the eternal city when they copied the square of St Peter’s columns
The original seems more genuine. Not much CGI and it felt real. Just the strange CGI-generated beast in the trailer is too cartoonish.
I wish Paramount would buy the rights to Palladium books for movies.. there is so much there they could make a Marvel competitor and make any script they want it being a table top RPG system made in a way that makes scrip writing easy.
