Hey guys!
When I first started trials last year, I dint know anything about the sport.. what bike to buy, what I needed and how accessible it was!
Hopefully in this video I can clear up questions you have and give you a little insight into this amazing sport. If you have any questions I haven’t answered in the video drop me a comment down there and I’ll get back to you.
Enjoy ππΌ

Inch perfect is in Clitheroe up north. Iβve done it twice. Itβs well worth doing.
First trial this weekend at Carsington π€at the age of 54. I went to Trials Days in Leek on a training day, certainly worth a look at. Great vlog and I will be on the white route.
Cheers James just starting in trials at 51 first trial this coming Sunday, bag of nerves
great vlog James, I'm the same as you (started last year at 63yr old though). same here in Australia, everyone is so supportive. love it myself and looking forward to a cracking year. walking the sections prior is a huge help, especially if someone with experience can help, and practicing figure 8's and static balance. Our intro line is orange and you pick your own line as long as you enter and exit. white for me this year through the flags i think.
Thanks James great video π Just getting back in at 65 years old π
Great intro James! π I am in my mid sixties and just getting into trials with a 2011 250 Gas Gas I have been rebuilding over the winter. Iβm taking it steadily and still in the practicing stage at the moment! I plan to start doing some local trials down South here over the next few months. I will definitely be doing white route for the time being. π You are spot on with your comments! Great work!
Thanks man great vid ,but where' do you live? What local stuff is their to Birmingham
Great form of motorcycling, even talking about it makes you smile, thats the true test.
Good advice. Well done.
Some very good advice here. Having had a break from 2010 -2023 I found it like putting on comfy slippers.
But like you said donβt rush or be pushed past that zone you feel good. We are all learning whatever experience of age. Great video jamesππ
I didn't realise that points stop at 3. The amount of times I've given up after 3 and then gone on to get a 5π
Good video, really well spoken, articulate and clear.
And no " What's up guys?" or smacking the cameraπ
I've just watched the latest 2 pro 1 slow with billy bolt I'm sure he gave you a mention check it out James ππ»
2nd time round for me in trials. Bought an old sherco 300 crashed it a lot, whisky throttle everywhere and scared the shit out of me and sold it. 10 years later Iβm having another go on a old gas gas, see if I get any better this time round π
Very informative video with great tips on entering the sport. Thanks for sharing it.
Great video and channel, can't believe you have not got 100k subscribers as it looks great and excellent quality
Nice video!
Club I help run in Kent do intro days for newbies try out and most people have taken up trials for same reason as you!, Lots of club activity down south as well
Great video pal . Very informative
Great information. While I'm in the US there are some differences, but the general topics are spot on.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Trials ππΊπΈ
but the main question is what CC and why?
Great video, I have just bought a vertigo too as my first trials bike π , I'm glad I went with a 250 and not the 300 .
Just got myself a trs 300 rr 2020, nice bike.
First trial tomorrow thanks for the advice π€π»π«£π¬
How do you join a club ? Can you do it online and just turn up
Love to have a go. Great vlog, really interesting . π
Thank you for the great advice and detailed insight into the sport.
Great Video. Having done trials up to 10 years old I have now got the bug againβ¦ 34 years later. For me this means dusting off Dadβs old twin shock and looking to buy my kid an Oset. A brilliant sport. Up in North Yorkshire we are spoilt for choice pure Lampkin country.
I test rode an old gas gas and felt it was horrible ! Snatchy and not user friendly – tried a Beta Evo and it was lovely – thatβs what I am now looking for – also tried a Sherco and that was lovely and smooth too – Beta or Sherco for me
I'm 70 and taking up trials again after a 50 year break, during which time I did drag racing, sprints, road racing solos and sidecars, and enduros.
I'm doing my first practice day next Sunday on my 1976 Montesa, that I've rebuilt.
