This is my Serotta Coeur d’Acier. Based on catalogs this is a custom bike ordered circa 2003/4 and built shortly thereafter. I am the second owner.

Steel frame with carbon rear stay and components. Damp, light and fast. Fitted with contemporary group set, mixed Dura-Ace 7800 and Ultegra 6600. Only changes I’ve made are new saddle, tires and bar tape. Rides like a dream, with a heart of steel.

  1. Anybody know any interesting stories about this bike or mid-2000’s Serotta designs? Steel and carbon seems rare, I know they were doing cool stuff with tapered steel tubes. This one has tapered top, down and seat tubes. The top tube is ovalized and tapered. Pretty cool they were fitting these complex shapes by hand in made to order sizing.
