This is advertised as a PX-10 but with the chain guard I’m assuming it’s a UO8. Looks like the dropouts are stamped. Any help?

UO8 it is.
Unchromed stays. Stamped dropouts. Not a PX10. For further confirmation note also the components. Metal dork disc. Kickstand. Cottered cranks. Cheap pedals. Nope.
Yeah not PX10. As everyone else is pointing.oit it’s a U08, the most popular bike of the 1970s bike boom. For every PX10 out there, there are probably 10,000 U08s like this. And they are craptastic French-threaded boat anchors.
People gravitated towards Peugeot during the bike boom because French bikes seemed exotic and lighter compared to Schwinns of the era, the other popular bike.
Whoever did Peugeot design sucked though, because a cheap U08 looked identical to the PX10 to the untrained eye, and they never put a model name anywhere on their bikes either. Most people think they’re called ‘Cadre Allege’ (lightweight frame) or ‘Record DuMonde.’
Most but not all the PX10s had black Nervex headtube lugs. They came outfitted with light alloy wheels and stronglight alloy cotterless cranks, and were made from top of the line Reynolds531 tubing. About 10 lbs lighter.
