I'm planning on moving to an area that's a 25km bike ride from the CBD (work). The majority of the ride is along a dedicated bike path!
I've never owned an ebike before, but an avid mountain biker.
I want to get a 45kph ebike! But I'm unsure if I should get a regular 27inch wheeled ebike or one of those cargo models like a Benno Boost Speed or a Tern Quick Haul. They have smaller wheels than typical bikes, so was concerned that might be a negative for such a long commute.
I just need to carry Laptop, keyboard and some spare clothes (cann shower at work). So typical normal sized panniers is fine, but maybe a cargo bike could be neat if I want to use this more for things such as light groceries or taking my toddler to daycare!
I'm super excited to get into bike commuting. It has always been my dream, just a shame work is gonna be so far away, but as a software developer, I need the exercise!
What bike do you suggest? I live in New Zealand, so won't have the same options as the USA.
