  1. Coming here from a comment on another post. Think of it logically. The end cap preloads the bearings and “squishes” everything together, then the pinch bolts hold it in place. So, tighten the pinch bolts opposite the top cap (holds the axle in place), then the end cap, then the pinch bolts on the same leg as the end cap.

    Does that make sense? My wheel was rattly when I got my bike, and this fixed it. Just don’t overtighten the end cap.
