Hello everyone, another great local Derbyshire/Derby loop done with my friend 118. It is a 35 mile’ish loop starting at The Derby Museum Of Making out along The Cloud Trail all the way to Cloud Hill Quarry then over to East Midlands Airport before finally crossing over to Elvaston Castle Country Park & back along the river to the start. It is an easy, flat route all on cycleways & roads.
Here is the link to my Komoot map of the route: https://www.komoot.com/tour/1897455849?share_token=ad4N5Aw2dqNP11NCfGp1r3X7pDoZRVb1rVwxchsLbiwB5P23WF&ref=wtd
Enjoy!

  1. A nice route. We used to ride most of it on analogue bikes as teenagers from Long Eaton. I had a walk at Vicar Water at Clipstone the other day and thought I should probably take a bike soon and explore further as you can get to Bilsthorpe and Southwell from there. It’s right on the edge of Sherwood Pines.

  2. I've cycled down the river path so many times but never realised that the stone skimming area was just off the path. Every day is a learning day.
