Your short videos are the best on Youtube. Thanks for being so informative yet concise. These videos almost always make me go watch the whole thing and thats a very good use case for short videos. You donβt scroll through bunch of information without a point, but get intrigued, then educated. Keep it up π₯π₯π₯β€οΈ
Also, the set is symmetrical across the real axis, because +i and -i are equal and opposite, on equal footing. It is impossible to distinguish a complex number from its conjugate. So, whatever a number is colored, itβs conjugate will the same.
We had to program this as our last practice module. It was fabulous to watch art made out of a few lines of code and math. We also did this with Julia sets and made a gif out of it by multiplying the function with e^ti from 0 to two pi for t!
Thanks, I've been wondering about why there are different colors in these "transcendent" equations for years. The hippies never had an answer
I have this recommandation but I'm in 8th grade π
I created on of these in Python a few days ago for 1024×1024 different gridpoints in the complex plane
damn finally understood how to generate it
What graphing calculator does my man use.

This would have been useful to me about 1 year ago when I was writing an IA on fractals and couldn't for the life of me figure out how a Mandelbrot set was defined. I had to use simpler fractals instead
Tatoooo!
Seems familiar

Cool
Nice. Lifted plans from Ben Sparks last year and made this.. so fun to mess with. β€ M set so much.
You can see the Mandelbrot set irl in a cup or bowl within it's shadow on top
Now zoom in on its edge
Thank you so much!
I had heard of the mandelbrot set and its weird properties and also seen this graphic presentation, but never heard how it came to be.
Now i can begin to understand its apparent amazingness
so basically
c
z = c
z = zΒ² + c
?
You start with a complex number.
C.
Youβve already lost me at this point
Do Mandelbulbs next.
Fubbonaci type of fractals
its even better cuz it looks like a big ol butt
I need name of program you use in vid
beautiful
What is the best calculator for this?
the osu map background!!
Imagine using the coordinates to generate a sound
Thank you, Benoit.
Nope, Iβm lost haha
You don't explain it at all where the average person can understand
Whats the website/app?
Thatβs right there is the shape of the entire universe.
Such mathematics… is like the joke… someone is flying a balloon over a countryside, looks down and asks a man, sorry where am I? Reply… In a balloon!. The man in the balloon reacts: that is correct but it is totally useless.
ok but like, whatβs the point of this??
This is a bunch of bullshit
Fractals
Math has been debunked forr years.
There is a song called Mandelbrot set
It looks like a butt
Almond bread
ok nerd

The fractal nature is beautiful. When you zoom in infinitely.
What happens if you change 0 to 1? Or 1/-1 even
That was a nice representation of iterative functions!
Did I take math or meth?
