Finally got this Austro-Daimler SL built up the way I want for commuting. Finished adjusting the brakes and fenders and adjusting the dish on the wheel to fix all the little tire rubs and rattles and bumps today.
Bought it earlier this summer with the original drop bars and Shimano 600 group set to replace my other single speed. I had been using a Schwinn Traveler frame since 2007, but it was way too big for me and now that I have kids, I couldn’t get my leg over it with a kids seat on it.
Most parts were taken from the Schwinn, but I did get new:
– Tektro R559 brakes to replace the old center pulls
– VO fenders to replace my SKS Longoards that were slightly too wide for the frame
– Oury grips
– cables and housing
– chain
– Conti Gatorskins
– Yellowbird bar ends (ok, these are kind of silly/expensive but they caught my eye when I was placing my VO order)
I have front and rear racks that I need to throw on, but I’ll ride it like this for a couple days to see if there is anything else that needs tweaking.

Looks sweet. Enjoy!
I would get a couple reflectors. Red for the back and white for the front.
Nice! I love all the chrome. Now you need a nice chrome pump. 😁
Sweet ride.
Whoa I missed the bar end pic. So cool😎
