Starting close to the highest point of the country (Kneiff, 560 m above sea level), the path follows the former Venn railway which used to connect the north of Luxembourg to Aachen in Germany for the Prussian state railway and is now mostly on belgian territory. It was operational between 1885 and 1989. It has now been converted into a 125km long cycling route going through the Ardennes and connecting the three countries.

The walk ends at a former train tunnel that’s been made inaccessible for the public to protect the breeding grounds of bats. The path leading up to it features informative signs about the living habits of these bats.
