A night cruise is awesome. I recently discovered that my general suburban neighborhood is so sleepy at night that I can ride for even 10 miles continuously without being passed by a single car.

You might prefer mounting your light lower. Your fork has a fender eyelet and you can mount of of these to it for your light. When the light’s lower, the shallower angle of the light reveals the road surface better.

Paul’s Gini mount is basically same thing but nicer CNC aluminum and comes in colors too.

One drawback is that there will be a wheel shadow but I think the trade off is worth it.

You can definitely ride faster at night. Also, if you inflate your tires with night air, you can go faster. And make sure you change the night air in your tires once a year.
