Im looking at free hubs online and im wondering what the rubber band and the silver ring on the free hubs are.
Am i supposed to leave them both on?
Do i remove the band only?
Can someone with a bit more bike knowledge please answer?✌️(sorry if this is a stupid question🙃)

The silver ring is a spacer that goes behind the cassette but ONLY if it is needed. These spacers typically come with 11 speed freehub bodies inCase you are using a 10 speed cassette or a mountain cassette on a road wheel. The rubber band is just there to keep in place during shipping. What cassette are you using/plan to use?
