I recently got back into mountain biking after taking a few years off and decided to make some upgrades on my bike. I replaced the original shock with a Rockshox front and got a full tune-up. I was attempting to install a new bottom bracket and somehow cross-threaded it even though I was going the correct direction. I took it to a bike shop and they relayed the bottom bracket threads can't be fixed. They basically told me I need a new bike. So my question is there any value in my bike or parts or should I just give it away? The only thing I could sell would be the front shock but I don't know since it's cut for the bike if it would even work on another bike.

Depends on how badly damaged the threads are. You’ve provided no pictures, so we can’t even tell. A thread chaser and oil should always be used in an attempt to re-cut threads. Without pictures, nobody will know how badly the BB is damaged.
