I had to push the bike to my mechanic . 3days later I attempted another ride to Somerset. See it went.. Depending on how you ride can affect the chains tension eg low speed snatchy chugging, hard acceleration and riding long distance. Secondly, you have the conditions; wet roads, dry dusty roads, heat and cold …. Its a tough life being a chain on a motorcycle. Check your chain daily and adjust it according to the manual.
